Our estimates for common connections, rounded up. Comfortable times leave room for a late arrival.

Domestic to domestic, changing terminals By post-security connectors | 1 h 20 min Comfortable: 2 h |

Getting around LAX
Terminals
Terminals 1–8 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
Changing terminals
All LAX terminals are now linked by post-security connectors, so most terminal changes don't mean another TSA check. Distances around the horseshoe are long, though: walking from one end to the other takes well over 20 minutes.
Customs and international arrivals
Arriving from abroad, you clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), collect your checked bags, drop them at the recheck belt and go through TSA security again before your connection. Most international flights arrive at the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
Tips for connecting at LAX
- •Check both terminals as soon as you land: a connection from Terminal 1 to Tom Bradley is a long walk.

LAX connection FAQ
Airlines set their own official minimums at LAX and only sell connections that meet them, so a one-ticket itinerary is always "legal". In practice we recommend at least 55 min for a domestic connection, 1 h 20 min when you change terminals and 2 h 25 min after an international arrival.
